Cheer on Student Finalists in Joy and Jerry Meyers Cup April 25 |
Three undergraduate teams are gearing up to compete in the inaugural finals of the Joy and Jerry Meyers Cup for the chance to win $215,500 in cash, with additional in-kind services, to launch their business in Vermont. UVM students, staff, and faculty are invited to attend the final presentations and live winner announcement. 4–7 p.m., Ifshin Hall Keller Room.

| Register Now: WID Institute for Course and Assignment Design, May 15–16 |
Get a head start on fall course planning at this two-day event, where you’ll reflect on teaching priorities and outline meaningful assignments that support those priorities. In addition to connecting with colleagues and building support for your students and yourself, you’ll leave with smart, sustainable course outlines, assignment plans, and syllabus revisions. Space is limited; register by April 30.

April 28: One Day, 15+ Service Projects, Lasting Impact   |
Join the Student Government Association and Together Vermont for a day of community service. Partners include the Fletcher Free Library, Special Olympics Vermont, the Committee on Temporary Shelter, the Vermont Lake Monsters, and more. Projects last 2–4 hours and begin no earlier than 10 a.m. This event is open to the entire UVM and Burlington communities. A community dinner, sponsored by UVM and SGA, will follow at the Davis Center.

| Sign Up to Work Commencement Weekend, May 18–19 |
Join hundreds of staff members helping to make the University Commencement Ceremony and college/school celebrations a joyful experience for our graduates and their families—and get paid to share in the excitement. Sign up for positions on May 18 and/or May 19, including golf cart drivers, ushers, info booth staff, ticket scanners, and ADA assistants. Paid training is provided. Register by May 6.

Faculty Regalia Order Deadline Approaching for 2024 Commencement  |
Faculty who plan to participate in commencement ceremonies and celebrations may rent regalia through the UVM Bookstore. For orders being paid for by an academic department or college, please contact your college Commencement Coordinator. For orders being paid for personally or by an administrative unit, please contact Brendan Andrews at bandrews@uvm.edu. You will need to provide your height and weight, highest degree, name of the institution that granted the degree, and headwear choice (mortarboard or tam). The rental cost is $70–$110, depending on your degree and whether or not a tam is selected. 
Note: To avoid rush shipping fees, orders must be placed no later than noon on Friday, April 26. Rental regalia will be available for pick up at the Bookstore on Friday, May 17.
