Dr. Klemperer's cancer-related research investigates tobacco treatment and policy interventions to reduce cigarette smoking. His work focuses on interventions to induce smoking cessation among adults who are not motivated to quit as well as treatment for the dual use of cigarettes and e-cigarettes. Additionally, his policy research examines the impact that national regulation to limit the amount of nicotine in cigarettes to non-addictive levels could have on disadvantaged populations who smoke.
