Academic Interests
Dr. Ahmed is a physician-scientist and specializes in the care of patients with prostate, kidney, bladder and testicular cancers. He is the director of genitourinary cancer transdisciplinary team at the UVM cancer center. His research is evaluating the role of bacteria commonly found in urine and their interaction with the immune system and whether that may in turn lead to formation of bladder cancer. He is an assistant professor of medicine and enjoys teaching students, residents and fellows at all levels.
